Team Lis Smash was founded in 2016 to challenge the status quo of strength training. We welcome people of every gender, sexuality, skin color, religion, shape and size to get strong and smash goals together.
We’re a queer, feminist, gender-affirming space with 2500 sf of powerlifting and strength training equipment including combo racks, power racks, basic and specialty barbells, deadlift platforms, dumbbells, kettlebells, a leg press, cable machines, an aqua bag, a 48-foot strip of turf and more. There’s even a gym cat!
All training is by appointment and we don’t take walk-ins.
There are a few different membership and training options:
-Open Gym access (train yourself!) – $50, 65 or 80 per month (sliding scale, pay what you can) plus a $25 sign-up fee. Open gym training is available by appointment only, from 6am to 10pm daily. A gym tour is required to join.
-Semi-private (training in small groups of up to four Smashers) and private training ranges from $45 to 100 per session. Prices vary by coach and how many sessions you buy.
Our coaches:
♥ Lis Saunders (she/they) trains clients on Monday through Thursdays and Saturdays. Her classes include Semi-Private Strength and Technique sessions of up to four people. Her books are currently closed to new clients until November. Rates: $85-100 per hour for private sessions, $45-55 per hour for semi-private classes
♥ Alizah Berg (she/her) has open availability (it’s slightly different week to week but some mornings, afternoons, and evenings are available each week). Alizah trains clients one-on-one and she also teaches Cross-Training classes of up to 6 people. Rates: $55-65 per hour for private sessions, $25 for classes
♥ Sarah Al-Khayyal (she/they) trains clients on weekday mornings and early afternoons. Sarah trains clients one-on-one and her classes include Strong(hu)man (up to 5 people) and Barbell Technique 101 (up to 4 people). Rates: Sliding scale of $50-80 per hour for private sessions, $35-$45 for classes
♥ Kira Knight (they/she) trains clients Monday to Thursday from 6am to 4pm, Fridays 6am to 10pm and Sundays 6am to 10pm. They train clients one-on-one and also teach Self-Defense classes of up to 10 people. Rates: Sliding scale of $30-50 per hour for private sessions. $10/20/30 sliding scale for classes
