*10/20/2020 update: registration is now closed***
Atlanta’s strength community comes together again this fall to raise barbells and funds for the city’s homeless LGBTQ+ youth. The event, originally scheduled for June, will take place on Saturday November 7th in East Atlanta Village. Donate here or register to lift below.
Attendance at the event will be limited based upon COVID case numbers and CDC recommendations. Masks will be required for all (except the lifter on the platform) and warm up and lifting areas will be outdoors. Lifters are invited to submit their lifts online if they are unable or wish not to attend in person on November 7th.
The event beneficiary is Lost-n-Found Youth, Atlanta’s 501c3 with a mission of eliminating homelessness for LGBTQ+ youth.
Participants select which version of the deadlift to perform: conventional, sumo or trap bar deadlift. And they have three attempts to perform the heaviest lift possible.
Each lifter sets a goal of how much weight they hope to lift on event day, and between now and then will be busy raising $1 per pound of their goal lift. So a lifter with a goal of deadlifting 200 pounds on November 7th will attempt to raise $200 for Lost-n-Found Youth.
For those lifting in person, you will be separated into heats throughout the day on Saturday, November 7th. Depending on the current COVID statistics at that time, we will limit attendance numbers and spectators at the event accordingly. Distancing will be enforced and masks are required for everyone in attendance. Lifters on the platform may remove their mask for the lift, but it must be replaced when they exit the lifting platform.
The event is co-hosted by Team Lis Smash and the Fantastic Beasts, Atlanta’s LGBTQ+ powerlifting club. It will be held at the Team Lis Smash garage gym in East Atlanta Village (570 Flat Shoals Ave SE, Atlanta 30316)
Registration for the 2020 event is now closed. Please donate here to support the event.
Thanks for your support and we’ll see you on November 7th!
