Team Lis Smash is participating in the Whole Life Challenge (WLC), January 19 through March 1.
What is the Whole Life Challenge?
The WLC is a game where players attempt to improve habits in six different areas over 6 weeks. The habits we’ll work on are Nutrition, Exercise, Mobility, Sleep, Hydration and Well-Being.
WLC has this cool app where you score yourself each day on each of the habits (plus you can earn daily points for a Reflection – a quick note about how your challenge is going so far).
Throughout the challenge we’ll have events to keep our everyone accountable and motivated. Weekly prizes will also be awarded… some at random and some performance-based.
Why are we playing?
This will be my third Whole Life Challenge.
I decided to take the Challenge this time because, as many of you know, for the past 15 months I’ve been struggling with some mental and physical health issues related to my hypothyroid condition, an autoimmune disorder called pernicious anemia, and some pretty heavy family stuff. In the past few months, I’ve begun feeling better, thanks in part to an adjustment to my thyroid medication and also because I’m eating a strict diet. I eliminated gluten, dairy, tree nuts and beans, plus I cut way down on sugar.

I know how big of an impact continuing these improved daily habits will have on my health, my performance and my life… and I know I still have lots of room for improvement.
I also know how unlikely it is for me to replace my bad habits without the support of the rest of you. So I wanted to take advantage of this opportunity to help me get better… and I want to make this opportunity available to the rest of you too.
