Faith Foggy is a 28 year old powerlifter originally from Charleston, SC. She grew up and still resides in Albany, GA.
Faith competed in her first powerlifting meet in December 2015. She trains five days a week, usually at Tony’s Gym in Albany.
On May 6th she competed in the USA Powerlifting Atlanta Women’s Open. She won Gold in the +84kg class, setting new personal records on her squat, bench and deadlift. She also achieved her big goal – to qualify for USAPL Raw Nationals!
Faith’s personal records are 330# squat, 200# bench press and 385# deadlift. Her goals by the end of this year are to squat 365#, bench press 225#, and deadlift 420#.
Faith’s favorite part of the ATL Women’s Open:
Being around other women who are interested in lifting and share the same passion as me was AWESOME!”
Her advice for new lifters:
Stay focused and hungry! With every comment that comes your way always chew up the meat (encouragement, motivating words, tips) and spit out the bones (negative comments, bad vibes, self-doubt).
Your only competition is yourself. If you’re constantly focused on becoming stronger than the next woman instead of becoming a stronger you, you’ll NEVER reach your goals and will be more prone to quitting the sport due to doubt and discouragement. Remember your purpose, remember your goals, and ALWAYS HAVE FUN!”
