Our Gym

Located in East Atlanta Village, Atlanta, GA, our 2500-square-foot strength training facility has a lot to offer. Come learn to lift, get stronger, and move better. Learn about your body and discover your strength.
Team Lis Smash was founded in 2016 to challenge the status quo of strength training. We started in a garage gym with one trainer and six athletes, and today we have four trainers and over 100 members.
All bodies are welcome here. It’s our mission to create a safe and affirming environment for all members, especially if you’re queer or trans, have a disability, or otherwise feel unwelcome in traditional fitness spaces.
Our gym is private and all training is appointment based, for safety and capacity reasons. Potential new members need a referral from a current member or a character reference, so we can be sure you’re a fit for our community.
Members are required to sign our Community Agreements upon joining, which outline our expectations of respect for the space and others in it.
Our facility has accessible parking spots and a paved entry path. We are located on the ground floor and have one accessible restroom.
We do have a gym cat, but if you’re incredibly allergic just let us know. He can always stay in the office while you train.
The gym is cleaned daily with HEPA filter vacuums. The space is temperature controlled and we often open our screened windows for ventilation. We also have three air purifiers to constantly circulate clean air.
Throughout the year we host a variety of events for our community, plus some that are open to the public. Come participate in lifting events like the Rainbow Deadlift Showdown benefiting Georgia Equality, our Ugly Sweater Lifting Party, and the Powerlifting United Atlanta Smash. Have fun at social events like Gotcha Day for Cheez the gym cat, the Holiday Potluck, Queer Clothing Swaps and our monthly book club.
